Are you a healthy eater? Do you put at least 7-9 servings of fruits and vegetables in your daily diet each day? What makes you different than others when it comes to your diet?
The most important you can do about healthy eating is to know as you get older, you need to consume less calories in your daily diet. As you turn 40 years of age, there are some important considerations in eating from the key food groups, breads, vegetables, dairy/milk/eggs/yogurt, and meats.
Let me look at one of my business associates who I have assisted in teaching him how to prepare healthy meals as a Diabetic (type II). He was enjoying a donuts each morning with his co-workers would not hurt him if he did it every now and then. Then, after careful research, we determined the amount of sugar in a doughnut was over 18 teaspoons of sugar and the soda which he drank was 14-16 teaspoons of sugar. It does not take a math genius to understand it is too much sugar for any individual but for a diabetic is too much, even, if it is once or twice a week.
We do a shopping trip together weekly and I show him what vegetables and fruits are allowed for diabetics, i.e. strawberries, kiwi, apples. Also, portion control is so important too. We select a daily menu which includes 3 meals (how to fix your breakfast in the morning, what to pack in your brown bag lunch, and how to prepare your dinner meal in advance) and what are the best snacks daily--walnuts, .
And, he is enjoying all various kinds of beans, i.e. lentils, navy, pinto, black eyed peas, and red beans. We have paired them with brown rice and sauteed onions, bell pepper(green, red, and yellow) and mushrooms. He has a healthy meal and without high sugar content which may raise his glycemic index! One of my diabetic clients enjoys a stress free day without the temptation of eating out with his co-workers.
You have a choice to improve your diet and even if you have a budget, it can be done on limited budgets for anyone.
It is important you get nutritional direction from a Food Health Expert, A Dietitian, or Culinary Expert.
Be honest with yourself each day! We know you are going to cheat a little bit. Please limit your cheating!
Remember you are giving your body a chance to adjust to the new healthy food choices..
Finally, you are the person who will benefit from a healthy cuisine daily. You will have more energy. You will be more productive at work. Your family will enjoy the added energy which you bring to the table too. You can give more to those important issues in your life which have top priority! Let me hear you say! I deserve to be healthy! There is a link between nutrition and healthy cuisine eating. Also, there maybe supplements which you may need to add to your Healthy Eating Cuisine Plan, i.e. Calcium, Vitamin D3, Omega 3, Lutein, Biotin, Iron, Collagen, B6, B12, or A Multi-Vitamin.
